Weymouth Storm Update: Thousands Still Without Electricity
At its peak, the storm left nearly 9,200 homes in the dark.
WEYMOUTH, MA — Weymouth continues to recover from Friday's storm, which left thousands in the dark, roads flooded, and debris across town.
As of midnight Sunday, 5,168 homes in Weymouth do not have power, down from a peak of about 9,200. The estimated restoration time is March 6, 11:45 p.m., the same time given to all outages in the area.
Friday's storm brought substantial damage to the area, with seaside roads flooding, fallen trees, and downed power wires. The damage was so severe that the National Guard is in town to provide assistance and the DPW is working to clear up the area.

A regional shelter from the Red Cross has opened at Weymouth High School and is expected to remain open until tomorrow.
