Weymouth Street Hockey Tournament Serves As 'Good Old Fashion Family Fun'

Thousands of dollars were raised for the Weymouth High School hockey programs at the annual street hockey tournament.

Over 250 Weymouth children spent their day off from school on Columbus day, playing hockey and eating pizza at the third annual street hockey tournament.

Weymouth mother Melanie Flanagan started the tournament three years ago as a way of raising money for the Weymouth High School hockey program. Flanagan said the 12 team tourney, made up of children between ages of 6-13, had it’s strongest turnout this year.

“This is the best fundraiser,” Flanagan said.  “All the kids want to participate.”
