Weymouth to Celebrate Fall with Pumpkin Give-a-Wey
The community event will include a pie eating contest, a chowder contest between Weymouth's finest restaurants, and live music and and a DJ.
Next weekend, Weymouth will celebrate the start of Fall season with its fifth annual Great Pumpkin Give a Wey.
The community event will include a pie eating contest, a chowder contest between Weymouth’s finest restaurants, and live music and and a DJ. Many local businesses will be present and the Weymouth Police and Fire Department will be on hand with surprises demo.
Children will enjoy horse drawn hayrides, pony rides and the aquatic sea creatures from the NE Aquarium Traveling. They can also take a ride on the roaming railroads with their family and eat at the Food Court and shop for produce, baked goods and crafts at the Weymouth Farmers Market which will be located on Libby Field for the day.

Val Sullivan , the Weymouth community health program coordinator said she expects 30,000 people to come. Sullivan said the best part of the event is that each attendee will be given a free pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.
Weymouth Mayor Sue Kay and the Community Events Committee will sponsor this free community gathering

The event will take place on Oct. 6 from 12-4 at the Town Hall and Libbey Field. In case of rain, the event will be pushed back to Oct. 13.
