Weymouth Woman Arrested in Stoughton on Fentanyl Trafficking Charges

STOUGHTON, MA — Two people wanted by the Hanson Police Department were arrested in a Stoughton home Wednesday afternoon.

Jennifer Best, 26, of Weymouth and Marlon Teixeira, 27, 0f Hanson, were taken into custody on Lowe Avenue on warrants from the Hanson Police Department. Both were charged with trafficking fentanyl, a drug violation near a school or park, and conspiracy to violate drug law, according to the Stoughton Police Department.

At 1:21 p.m. Wednesday, police from Stoughton, Brockton, Pembroke, along with state police and U.S. Marshals located the two at the Lowe Street home. Upon entry, police say they found 200 grams of fentanyl and $1,600 in cash, police said.

The arrest happened near Dawe Elementary School, but no students or staff members were in danger and the school remained open, police said.

Custody of the two was transferred to the Hanson Police Department. Both were held overnight on $100,000 cash bail, with Best staying at the Hanson Police Department and Teixeria being held at the Plymouth County House of Correction, according to the Hanson Police Department.

Best and Teixeria were scheduled to be arraigned in Plymouth District Court on Thursday. Stoughton police say they will seek an arraignment in Stoughton District Court.
