Weymouth Woman to Face Charges for False Assault Story
Amber N. Carmark told police she was assaulted after she was found duct-taped in a ravine near Route 3, but later recanted her story.

WEYMOUTH, MA — The Weymouth teen found bound with duct tape near Route 3 will face charges for making up a story about being an assault victim.
Amber N. Carmark, 18, is scheduled to be arraigned in Quincy District Court on Nov. 2, according to the Patriot Ledger. She is expected to face charges of filing a false crime report and intimidating a witness. She was taken into custody Tuesday and is being held at a youth facility for charges from another case out of juvenile court.
At about 8 p.m. on Sept. 28, police received a 911 call from the girl asking for help. Police say they were able to locate the girl near a ravine between the Route 3 ramp and Main Street by using their sirens and calling out for her. She was taken to the hospital.

Police say they spoke to her for several hours, but her story was vague and she didn't fully cooperate. The teen told police that he was given a ride by a man and then dropped off in the area where she was located. She also spoke to investigators about meeting different men on an online website. The teen does not live on the South Shore.
The next day, the Weymouth Police Department announced that the teen was not a victim of an assault of any kind and the entire story was untrue.

Police say they have surveillance footage from Walmart on Middle Street that shows Carmark buying duct tape and a backpack the morning of the incident.
