Weymouth Woman Wins $1,000 for Life

WEYMOUTH, MA — A Weymouth woman has become the eight grand prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$1,000 a Week for Life” instant game.

Theresa Dacey was recently at the Massachusetts Lottery's Braintree office to pick up her prize. She chose the cash option and received a one-time payment of $800,000 (before tax withholdings). She told lottery officials that she plans on using her winnings to help her family.

Her winning ticket was purchased at Newtown Foodmart in Charlestown. The store will receive a $10,400 bonus for its sale.

Two $1,000 a week for life grand prizes remain in the game.
