Woman Charged With OUI In Weymouth After Bar Reports Her
Police say a bartender at an Abington bar reported Elaine Cormier after she was refused service.

WEYMOUTH, MA — A Rockland woman was taken into custody on a drunken driving charge after workers at the restaurant that refused her service reported her to police.
Elaine Cormier, 46, was arrested Sunday night and also faces a charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle. She was arraigned in Quincy District Court Monday and pleaded not guilty to the charges. She is free on personal recognizance, according to court records.
At about 10:47 p.m., officers responded to a report of an erratic driver coming from Abington on Route 18, according to a police report. While searching for the vehicle, police learned that the driver was refused service at an Abington bar called "The Cellar" and shortly left afterward. A bartender called police after the woman left, the report read.

Officers from Abington were able to stop the vehicle near the 99 Restaurant on Main Street. At the scene, an Abington officer told Weymouth Police that the vehicle took an unusually long time to stop, allegedly traveling several hundred yards before stopping.
The driver, identified as Cormier, demanded to know why she was pulled over. When police said someone reported her as an erratic driver, she demanded to know the name of the person who called, allegedly becoming belligerent in the process.

When asked where she came from and where she was going, Cormier allegedly changed her story several times. Following a failed field sobriety test, Cormier was taken into custody.
At the station, a breath test determined that Cormier's blood alcohol content level was 0.12 percent, above the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
The drunken driving charge is Cormier's second. She was previously charged in September 2011 in Hingham District Court.
Cormier is due back in court Jan. 25.
