Weymouth Man Kills Wife Backing Out of Driveway; Tells Police It Was An Accident

QUINCY, MA — Police in Quincy are investigating a fatal incident involving a couple.

Friday afternoon at about 2:27 p.m. officers responded to 19 Phillips St. for a reported pedestrian accident. At the scene, the driver, a 54-year-old male, told police he backed his vehicle out of his driveway and accidentally struck his wife, according to the Quincy Police Department.

The victim, 52-year-old Zhen Li, was pronounced deceased on scene. The operator of the vehicle was uninjured, but was transported to the hospital for evaluation, police said.

No charges are being filed at this time, pending the outcome of an investigation.
