10 Years Later, Man Still Can't Outrun Wilmington Police
Police arrested Christopher John Wiese after a brief chase Monday, 10 years after they arrested him following an extensive manhunt.

WILMINGTON, MA -- In May 2008, Wilmington Police arrested Christopher John Wiese after a two-hour manhunt that involved canine units from the Massachusetts State Police and ended with the North Reading man's arrest on weapons and drug possession charges. On Monday, Wiese once again tried to flee Wilmington Police and was once again arrested, this time on a charge of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, according to the Wilmington Police log.
Wilmington Police responded to a report at 4:40 pm of a man kicking another man on the ground on Park Street. When police arrive, Wiese, 33, of 22 Linwood Avenue in North Reading, allegedly fled into nearby woods. The victim told police at one point during the beating Wiese threatened to shoot him.
Police checked a residence on Green Street where they believed Wiese was heading. He was arrested and released on bail at 8:30 pm Monday night.
