Academic Honors Continue for Wilmington Students

Several students made Dean's List this semester at colleges around the country.

College students have filed back to campuses around the country to begin their second semester, but honors from the first semester continue to pour in for Wilmington students.

Ian Conway, son of Margaret and Patrick Conway was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester at Saint Michael's College. Conway is a Sophomore Exploratory major at the liberal arts, residential Catholic college located in Burlington, Vermont, one of America's top 10 college towns.

Students who complete a minimum of 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 at the end of a semester are recognized for their scholarship by inclusion on the Dean's List.

Stonehill College recently named a pair of local residents to its Dean's List for the Fall 2011 semester.

Wilmington's Jennifer A. DiNuccio, Class of 2012, and Megan E. Keane, Class of 2012, were both honored for their academic efforts.

To qualify for the Dean's List at Stonehill, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

Springfield College has named James Perry, to the dean's list for academic excellence for the fall 2011 term. James is studying Applied Exercise Science.

Lance M. Flaherty, a sophomore majoring in aeronautical engineering/ mechanical engineering, was named a Presidential Scholar for the fall 2011 semester at Clarkson University.

Presidential Scholars must achieve a minimum 3.80 grade-point average and carry at least 14 credit hours.

Missouri University of Science and Technology announces the names of students who made the honor list for the 2011 Fall semester.

Matthew Gake, a freshman in computer science, John Malone, a freshman in engineering, Robert Folk, a junior in engineering management, Mike Condell, a senior in mechanical engineering and Caleb Rogers, a sophomore in mechanical engineering represented Wilmington well with strong academic performance.

Those on the list carried a minimum of 12 hours and had grade point averages of 3.2 or above out of a possible 4.0.

Christina M. Brown has been named to the Dean's List at Western New England for the fall semester of 2011. Brown is a Sophomore majoring in Psychology. Students are named to the Dean's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher.

Shayne Kinsella, a member of the Class of 2015 at Connecticut College and a resident of Wilmington, has been named to the Dean's Honors list for the 2011 fall semester.

At Connecticut College, Dean's Honors is a recognition for students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.66.

Stephen Rodenhiser, Kristin Ozelis, Dustin Cavanaugh and Christopher Clark were among over 3,000 students from the University of Massachusetts Boston who made the Fall 2011 Dean's List.

A large group of Wilmington residents earned a spot on the UMass Dartmouth Dean's List in recognition of earning a fall semester grade point average of 3.2 or higher of a possible 4.0.

Patrick Cassidy, Douglas Lyons, Jessica McBride, Nicholas Nearhos, Shannon O'Brien, Casey Otovic and Laurel Pickett were the students who earned that distinction.

For the past 10 years, UMass Boston's Emerging Leaders Program has established an executive leadership development offering that engages individuals across sector, gender, race and ethnicity in an experiential collaborative, skill-building program.

The program focuses on several critical skills, including communication and negotiation strategies, risk taking and entrepreneurship, the impact of new media/social media on your brand and your company, ethical practices, change management, team building, and networking.

Amanda Church, majoring in human resources managment at UMass Dartmouth, has been named to the Chancellor's List in recognition of earning a fall semester grade point average of 3.8 or higher of a possible 4.0.

Thomas Callahan and Katelyn Hayes were named to the Dean's List at Quinnipiac University.

To be eligible for dean's list status, a student must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits in a semester, with at least 12 credits that have been graded on a letter grade basis (A through C) to be eligible. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester.
