WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Police Department has added a new mobile precinct trailer to its fleet.

"The new trailer will serve as a valuable resource during large-scale community events and major public safety incidents, providing our officers with a larger, more modern workspace to support operations in the field," police said in a Facebook post.

The trailer replaces the former community policing trailer, which had served the department for more than 25 years.

"The new Mobile Precinct is significantly larger and includes multiple workstations to support officers and incident command staff during critical incidents and community events alike," police wrote.

Residents are invited to stop by and check out the trailer Wilmington’s annual Fun on the 4th Festival, which will be June 25-28.
