• BREAKING: West Nile Virus Found (Again) In Mosquitos In Wilmington (wilmingtonapple.com) — West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitos trapped in Wilmington, and targeted spraying is scheduled tonight, Wednesday, August 26, from 8:30 p.m. to midnight in specific neighborhood streets. Residents in these areas are urged to stay indoors during spraying, follow simple safety steps, and review prevention tips to reduce mosquito bites and standing water around their homes.
   

• SCHOOL BUS ROUTES for Wilmington Public Schools (2026-2027) (wilmingtonapple.com) — Wilmington Public Schools have released bus route details for the 2026–2027 school year covering the high school, middle school, and several elementary and intermediate schools. Families are reminded that kindergarten stops aren't published and that a parent or guardian must be present at drop-off, with transportation questions directed to the district's transportation office.
