Anna 'Louise' Matarese, 88, of Wilmington

Her most notable passion was her family.

WILMINGTON, MA - Anna “Louise” Matarese, 88 years of age, a resident of Wilmington for 50 years passed away the morning of January 27, 2016, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. Louise was born on January 30, 1927. She was a graduate of Arlington High School. She married Frank R. Matarese on June 23, 1951. They met when Louise worked as a secretary for John Hancock in Boston.

Louise was a loving mother of three children; Robert Matarese of Colorado, Maureen Matarese of Manchester, NH and the late Mark Matarese. She is also survived by her granddaughter Kathleen Louise Matarese.

Louise always overcame adversities with love from heart. She was described by many as one of the nicest and most kind person they have ever met. She was adventurous and traveled extensively to places like, Alaska, Italy, France, Ireland, throughout the Caribbean as well as Las Vegas and trips to Foxwoods to name a few.

She will forever be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A funeral mass for Louise will be celebrated at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

It has been requested that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Anna’ memory to the VNA of Middlesex East, c/o Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 607 North Ave, Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
