Back to Work for Wildcat Sports Teams
After slow vacation week, plenty of games happening this week for local squads.
Last week was April vacation for local students, which means limited action on the field. Though the Wilmington High School softball team earned its first win and the boys lacrosse team traveled for an overtime win, there were a handful of games during the week.
This week, however, is a different story. Here is a look at Wildcat teams playing in upcoming days.
- After a strong start to the season that included an and a , the boys lacrosse team is back at it on Monday, hosting North Andover. First matches begin at 3:30 p.m. The girls team is on the road against North Andover.
- At 3:45 p.m. on Monday, the girls lacrosse team is back on the field as well. The host Pentucket at .
- The tennis teams won't get much rest following their Monday action. On Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., it's the Lady Wildcats' turn for a home tilt. Wilmington hosts Ipswich while the boys travel to face the same foe.
- On Wednesday, the softball and girls lacrosse teams are at home. On the dimaond, Wilmington welcomes North Reading to town at 3:30 p.m. At Shawsheen, the lacrosse team battles visiting Burlington.
- Billerica travels to Wilmington for boys tennis play on Thursday beginning at 3:30 p.m. Also on Thursday, the plays Ipswich. The Wildcats game over April vacation was cancelled due to poor field conditions.
- Lynnfield is in town Friday to play the . Opening faceoff is at 4 p.m. at .
