Band Parents Hosting Comedy Night Fundraiser
February 3 event held in conjunction with Sons of Italy.
Laughter is the best medicine. It’s not a bad fundraiser either.
On February 3, a Comedy Night is scheduled as a joint fundraiser for the Sons of Italy and the Wilmington Band Parents Scholarship Fund at the Wilmington/Tewksbury Elks on South Street in Tewksbury.
There will be four comedians, including Tony V. and Wilmington’s own Steve Bjork, who will also MC the proceedings. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m.

“I look forward to a great night at this new venue,” said Kevin Bleier, President of the Wilmington Band Parents and Friends Organization. “It is a great night to catch up with friends and neighbors, and meet new friends.”
In addition to the show, there will also be raffles, a silent auction and cash bar. Raffle and auction items include Celtics tickets, baskets of cheer, baskets of scratch tickets, a movie night basket and more. Guests are invited to bring their favorite appetizers.

Bleier said the group hopes to sell 300 seats. Individual tickets are $15 while tables of 10 can be reserved for $150. Money that goes towards the scholarship fund benefits graduating seniors from the Wilmington High School band and color guard.
In previous years, the group has provided 12 scholarships of $500 each thanks to its fundraising efforts.
“Certainly it is an enjoyable night of entertainment,” said Bleier.
