Celebrating Autisim Awareness Month

     The  month  of April has  been  designated  World  Autism Awareness  Month, and a Local  preschool, The  Learning  Experience  Pre School has had a number  of events  to help commemorate the  month.

     To  conclude this  month  of  awareness  is a display  of art work  that was done by the  students. of the center

   Autism  is  a developmental disorder, it causes problems  with  social skills and communication. Autism , known as Autism  Spectrum Disorder  Can range  from mild to  severe, its manifests  itself  differently in every child. Children, who  are  affected with  the  disease, have difficulty with  communicating, social  skills,and/or  dealing with the  world around them. Center  for  Disease Control in Atlanta predict that 1 out of 110 children  will  be diagnosed with Autism.

     Jennifer  Spears  Center  Director and Carla  DeRosa, said " We chose to  celebrate  Autism Month because, the  key to helping  children  with  Autism is early  detection and  early  therapy, and since the center charges  range from from as young as 6 weeks to 6 years, Its a perfect  fit  for the  Learning  Experience Childhood  Center to host these event for the  month.
