Karate's a Hit at the Farmers Market

The Academy of Traditional Karate appeared at WFM on August 26

The Academy of Traditional Karate arrived in force at the Wilmington Farmers Market today.

Market goers were treated to demonstrations highlighting the discipline and precision of the ancient eastern art form, Shori-ryu Karate. Led by Sensei Anthony Alessandro, students and ATK instructors moved through basic moves, "kata" (movement patterns), sparring and board breaking.

Before and after the demonstration, Sensei Anthony met with market customers to answer questions about karate, the benefits of an education in self-defense, bullying prevention, and about the programs offered at the ATK.
