NARCAN TRAINING!! COME GET TRAINED IN OVERDOSE PROTECTION

Opioid addiction is a disease and we can help save victims of an overdose. Come get trained in OVERDOSE PROTECTION! NARCAN SAVES LIVES

The Wilmington Substance Abuse Coalition is promoting an Overdose Protection Night.  Nasal narcan is free and will be available after a short training session from representatives of the Narcan Pilot Program of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.  Opioid overdose is one of the leading causes of death in Massachusetts. Some examples of opioids include Heroin, Methadone, Fentanyl & Morphine.  In order to save lives, the Department of Public Health is conducting a pilot project to distribute a medication called nasal naloxene (Narcan) that can reverse an opioid overdose.  Narcan blocks the opioids and restores normal breathing when sprayed into the nose of someone who has overdosed.  It is safe, easy to administer and has no potential for abuse.  Representatives from te Tewksbury office of Northeast Behavioral Health will also be in attendance to offer services.  Please sign up at boh@town.wilmington.ma.us or 978-658-4298.  You can visit us on Facebook too, at Wilmington Substance Abuse Coalition.

March 27th 6-7:30 p.m. Wilmington Town Hall, center room
