The theme for the library's Annual Poetry Contest this year is “Animals.” Poems may be about animals you love, animals you fear, farm animals, animals from the past or any other animal that sparks your creative writing juices. Deadline for submission of poems is Saturday, March 31. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges in the following six categories: adult, high school, middle school, elementary school grades 4 and 5, grades 2 and 3, and K to grade 1. Prizes will be awarded by the Friends of the Library. Winners and honorable mention recipients will be invited to read their poems and receive prizes/certificates at Poetry Night on Tuesday, April 24. Applications with the contest rules are available at the library and on the library’s website
