Shredding Truck at Community Fair September 22

Bulk shredding free to public thanks to funding from Friends of the Library.

The library is hosting its 3rd annual Community Fair, Saturday, September 22, 10am-1pm on the Swain Green.  As part of the fair, a shredding truck from Northeast Record Retention will be on hand to shred paper items.   This is the time to clean out those files and shoe boxes.  Bring your dated bank statements, old tax returns, and don’t forget the love letters to be shredded on site.  The shredding service is free to the public (funding provided by The Friends of the  Library.)

In addition to the shredding truck, over thirty non-profit groups serving Wilmington will be present providing fairgoers the chance to learn about services and volunteer opportunities.  Many organizations will have gift baskets and gift certificates to raffle and select vendors from the Farmer’s Market will be selling their wares.  A roving magician, a henna artist, face painting, and story times for children will round out the entertainment.

During fair hours, the library will be collecting “Wilmington Memories”. Residents are encouraged to stop by the library and share their stories of Wilmington as part of the library’s oral history project. At 3:00 pm, there will be a demonstration at the library on how to access the Town Crier online
