St. Thomas 2nd Graders Prepare for First Communion

    Second  graders  at  St Thomas  School  of Religious  Education  gathered, on Tuesday  for their  annual  Jesus  Day in preparation  for their  First Communion . Jesus Day  was the  Idea of the  Director  of Religious  Education  Marylyn Mandosa,Who started this  event  when  she  began  her tenure as Director  of religious education 10 Years  ago, and is  to help  prepare the  children  for the  receiving  of their  First  Communion.

    The  Day  is set aside  each year so that the  kids who are receiving their  First Communion can have a day of  fun, and reflection. as they  get  ready  for this  big milestone in their  lives. The events started with  an assembly  in the  church  a short  blessing, then the  kids are  broken  up into  groups to participate in events as Rosary making ,candle  painting, hand prints  on the  Altar cloth  that will be used for the  liturgy, and other  events. It culminated dinner  in the  Church  Hall  and gifts  given to the  First Communicants  by the  Pastor  Fr Early.
