Telephones have come a long way since then.  But if one person has a hearing loss, talking on the telephone can be difficult because visual clues are missing.  It can cause frustration and misunderstanding for both parties.  The good news is that hearing aids now have blue tooth capability which pairs to a person’s cell phone enabling a clearer signal.

With blue tooth capability the hearing aid wearer will hear the conversation through both hearing aids simultaneously.  With the signal being transmitted to both hearing aids, the wearer’s hearing aids shape the incoming speech to their hearing loss.  The hearing aid wearer no longer has to put the phone on speaker to hear the conversation.

A blue tooth landline cordless phone is also available so the hearing aid wearer can still have a landline if they want.  But, the blue tooth feature makes it easy to answer the phone and hear well.  The speech is transmitted to both hearing aids simultaneously.
