Wilmington High School Freshman History Fair
Award Winners from the 9th Annual Wilmington High School Freshman History Fair

On Monday, April 8, Wilmington High School held its 9th annual Freshman History Fair in the high school library. Freshmen taking 9th grade U.S. History have been working on a three-part differentiated instruction project since January. In the first step of the project, students learned about the reliability of using Internet sources for historical research. They completed website evaluations and narrowed down a list of valid sources to create an annotated bibliography. After completing their research, students demonstrated their newfound knowledge in a final product (i.e. constructed project, short film, piece of literature, or a student suggested product approved by the teacher). Each 9th grade U.S. History class chose two projects to be showcased at the history fair. The following prizes were awarded:
1st place (overall): Kim Lifton - The Culper Spy Ring
2nd place (overall): Meghan Rodenhiser - John Wilkes Booth Escape
