You Can Help a Child in Need in Massachusetts
Donating your children's unused clothing will benefit a needy child right here in Massachusetts. Will you help us?
Now that Spring is here, do your children have some winter clothes they didn’t wear (or hardly wore) that you could donate instead of tossing into the back of the closet? 305,000 children in Massachusetts live in low income situations. Many experience New England winters without a warm coat or face their first day of school without a backpack. Cradles to Crayons is an organization that provides children living in homeless or low income situations with the essential items they need to thrive- at home, at school, at play. Cradles to Crayons supplies these items free of charge by connecting communities that have, with communities that need.
Cradles to Crayons collects new and nearly new children's items through grassroots community drives and corporate donations. Donations are then processed and packaged by volunteers, and are distributed to disadvantaged children across the state through a collaborative network of social service agencies and school partners.
Our daughter Isabelle Richards, as part of her service project as a Project 351 Ambassador representing Wilmington 8th graders, has partnered with Cradles to Crayons to spearhead a drive to collect children’s clothing in Wilmington. Collection boxes will be placed at two Wilmington schools, the West Intermediate and the Middle School. Donations will then be processed and packaged by volunteers, then distributed to disadvantaged children across Massachusetts.
