Butters Row Bridge In Wilmington To Re-Open This Week
Crews found the bridge needed more repairs than anticipated, delaying the bridge's reopening by a month.

WILMINGTON, MA -- Wilmington Police said Tuesday that MassDOT expects to complete work and reopen the Butters Row Bridge over the MBTA railroad tracks by the end of this week. Work on the project, which had originally been expected to be completed by November 10, but crews encountered unexpected repairs that delayed reopening of the bridge by nearly a month.
Detours will continue until the bridge is reopened. The bridge connects Butters Row to Route 38. Traffic east of the tracks heading to the west side of the tracks is being directed North on Route 38, turning left on Route 62 west and then turning left onto Chestnut Street South. Traffic on the west side of the tracks heading towards the east side of the tracks follows the same route but in reverse.
