Days After Storm, Wilmington Sidewalks Still Snow Covered
It may be too cold to go for most people to go for a walk, but those who do are finding treacherous conditions.

WILMINGTON, MA -- The temperature may be in the single digits during daylight hours this week, but people are still out walking. And that means plenty of complaints throughout the region about the fact that many sidewalks have not been cleared several days after the weekend snowfall. And Wilmington is no exception.
The Boston Pedestrian, a Twitter feed focused on walking in greater Boston, was out in Wilmington Thursday and noted the poor condition of sidewalks, days after a winter storm dumped nearly six inches of snow on the town.
Some suburbs do it better than others: traveled extensively around Burlington today and found every inch of Town owned sidewalk cleared of snow. In Wilmington it was almost the opposite, very few sidewalks were cleared. #burlingtonma #WilmingtonMA

According to town policies, "town crews will plow sidewalks along central routes that are heavily traveled by children on their way to and from school. These sidewalks are not plowed until all road clearing operations are completed." But sidewalks adjoining a business are the responsibility of the business owner under a town bylaw.
