'Dedicated And Brave': Wilmington Hero Nurse

Wilmington's Vicky Walkling doesn't think she deserves special recognition, but her husband doesn't agree.

WILMINGTON, MA — In the time of the coronavirus outbreak, it can be heroic to just keep going to work, putting yourself on the line to help others. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

ICU nurse/educator

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
She has been helping to treat the sick, but says she is just doing her job and doesn't think she deserves any special recognition.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
I feel as though she is both dedicated and brave for continuing to go to work along with her fellow nurses knowing that she could be exposed to the virus.
