Fasulo's 'Life-Long Wilmington Resident' Claim Questioned
Property records call into question claims of lifelong residency for the candidate for Wilmington Selectman in Saturday's election.

WILMINGTON, MA —Selectman candidate Robert Fasulo lived in Tewksbury from 2005 to 2012, a fact that contradicts his campaign's claim that he is a "lifelong Wilmington resident." According to a Middlesex County deed, Fasulo and his wife purchased a home at 283 Foster Road in Tewksbury for $336,500 in February 2005. The Fasulos bought their Wilmington home at 28 Marjorie Road for $375,000 in December 2012.
Fasulo is one of four challengers running in a six-way race for the two selectmen seats up for reelection in the town election on April 27. Fasulo did not respond to Patch's request for comment, but in a Facebook post he said he and his wife maintained separate residences after they were married as they looked for a house in their price range in Wilmington.
"I am a forty plus year resident of the town that wants to bring common sense into the town government," Fasulo, 42, wrote on his campaign's Facebook page. He made the same statement in a candidate statement he submitted to Wilmington Patch for publication last month.

But in a 2015 Wicked Local Article, Fasulo identified himself as a "former Tewksbury resident" who had worked with selectmen in that town to create a farmer's market.
Fasulo's parents have owned their house on Broad Street since 1979. While Robert Fasulo Jr. has been registered to vote in Wilmington since 2004, his wife did not register to vote in town until March 2012. Melissa Fasulo was registered to vote in Tewksbury from 2006 to 2012, according to Tewksbury Town Clerk Denise Graffeo. Graffeo said Rob Fasulo has never registered to vote in Tewksbury.
