Freshmen Earn Honors at U.S. History Fair
Wilmington High School fair was culmination of months of hard work.
On Monday, April 9, held its 8th annual Freshman History Fair in the high school library with an evening reception for awards.
Freshmen taking ninth grade U.S. History have been working on a three part differentiated instruction project since February. In the first step of the project, students learned about the reliability of using internet sources for historical research.
They completed website evaluations and narrowed down a list of valid sources to create an annotated bibliography. After completing their research, students demonstrated their newfound knowledge in a final product (i.e. constructed project, short film, piece of literature, or a student suggested product approved by the teacher).
