Girls Lacrosse Set for First Ever Postseason Appearance

Wilmington learned its playoff fate on Thursday when the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association announced its pairings for the North Division 2 playoffs.

For the first time ever, Wilmington will be a part of the girls lacrosse postseason, taking on Marblehead in the first round. The Lady Wildcats, earning the No. 15 seed thanks to a 7-9 regular season record, will next take the field on Wednesday against the tournament's second seed.

The winner of that contest will take on either No. 7 Bishop Fenwick or No. 10 Weston in the quarterfinal round.

Wilmington also snagged a spot in the boys lacrosse tournament thanks to a stellar regular season. Those brackets will be announced on Friday.
