Help Fund Wilmington Mother's Comeback

Doctors said Tori Wedge could remain in a vegetative state. Now she's home, speaking, and her family needs some help to take the next step.

One Wilmington family which has already survived the dreariest of prognoses needs a hand in continuing an inspirational comeback.

Tori Wedge, wife to Joe and mother to 10-year-old Trent and 5-year-old Jordan, was found unresponsive after suffering a seizure on Labor Day weekend last year. She was placed in a medically induced coma to control the seizures. Early tests showed no brain activity as doctors prepared Joe for the very real possibility that Tori would remain in a vegetative state, according to a GoFundMe created for the family.

After a lot of time in the ICU and a lot of prayer, Tori regained consciousness and her mental capacities.

Tori returned home early this year with no signs of brain damage, but her mobility is severely limited, she suffers from tremors, and has trouble speaking.

The family is in need of a home care, therapy services, and medical equipment as Tori continues the fight. A GoFundMe has been created for the family if you would like to encourage them with a donation.
