HIgh School Building Committee to Move Forward With 2a-15

The design will be brought forward to the Massachusetts School Building Authority after last night's meeting.

High School Building Committee members made official what many expected on Monday night when they voted to move forward with option 2a-15 as their preferred option for a potential new high school.

After the decision, officials will now submit the recommendation for their preferred option to the Massachusetts School Building Authority's Board of Directors, who will vote on July 27.

If board members approve the proposal, the next step would to be to create a schematic design.

Option 2a-15 was the chosen option for a variety of reasons. For starters, the plan was more cost effective than others and also boasts a shorter completion schedule according to information provided at the most recent .

Specifically, the layout includes a variety of room sizes for flexible teaching spaces, provides preferred adjacencies for learning communities, features 21st century academic spaces, includes a cafeteria that opens to a courtyard and also hosts a green roof and outdoor classrom.
