High School Students View Play About Bullying

On Friday, students will learn about an important topic in a different way.
Deana's Educational Theater will perform The Lesson at 8:15 a.m. today, exploring the relationships of three students dealing with the impact of cyberbullying.

The play features many common problems that occur in the lives teenagers in the age of Facebook, text messages and other new means of bullying.
Wilmington has gone to many lengths to prevent bullying, including a parent information night and other events throughout the year.

"We obviously spend a lot of our focus on the academic side of things," said Superintendent of Schools Joanne Benton. "This is about the social and emotional aspect, as well as strategies to make good decisions."
