High School Teams in Action This Week

A look at the upcoming days for the Wildcats.

Local teams are beginning to wind down the fall season, and this week is a critical one for those jockeying for playoff positioning.

On Monday, the is the only Wilmington High School squad playing on its home field. Head coach Steve Scanlon's charges welcome Wakefield to town, with kick off at 6 p.m. The girls team plays on the road at the same time against the same opponent.

There's just one team at home on Tuesday as well. The of recent weeks in a home meet against Burlington.

Wednesday is a slow day in town, with no home games. The and boys soccer squad both travel for action against Masconomet and Burlington, respectively.

A pair of teams play in Wilmington on Thursday. The at 5 p.m. against Burlington while the girls soccer team plays the same foe at 6:30 p.m.

The volleyball team hosts Burlington Friday at 4 p.m., and if you're taking in the match you can head right to the football field to cap the double header.

scored three touchdowns to help the Wildcats earn a win over Stoneham last week. This Friday at 7 p.m. Melrose travels to town as Wilmington looks to make it two in a row.

Finally, the boys soccer team closes out the week with a matinee tilt on Saturday. The Wildcats host Stoneham at 1 p.m.
