Girls fall narrowly while boys sprint to lopsided win.
The Wilmington cross country teams split with visiting Stoneham on Tuesday, as runners took to the course under warm temperatures and sunny skies.
Callie O'Connell was second overall with a time of 21:20, Kate Richardson was fifth at 22:14 and Keara MacCorkle was sixth as she completed the course in 22:17. She was followed by Michelle Barnes and Mauve Sullivan, who were seventh and eighth, respectively.
Despite those solid times, the Lady Wildcats fell, 28-27, and dropped to 1-2 on the year.

The boys meanwhile, were lead by a top three sweep. Erik Alatalo ran the 5k race in a time of 17:42 for first place, Dave Swider was next at 18:07 and Steve Halas was just behind him in third place overall with a time of 18:12.
Wilmington's dominance continued with Jake Russo and Andrew Sears in fifth and sixth, respectively, while Justin LaRosa and Chris Monteforte were sixth and seventh to help the locals improve to 1-2 on the season.
