The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and Massachusetts Department of Public Health presented the & with Bronze-Level Massachusetts School Wellness Awards.
Both schools scored extremely well of every section of the award. Coordinated School Health staff members Amy O’Neill and Laura York were impressed with all aspects of each school wellness program, their coordination with school staff and the community, and the way in which they created an exemplary whole-school approach to fostering wellness. Both schools have gone above and beyond what is required to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.

North and West Intermediate Schools received a Massachusetts School Wellness Award banner of recognition. The featured wellness program at the West is called “Recess Before Lunch” and the featured wellness program at the North is called “Physically Fit Fridays.”
