Just Moved to Town: How to Register Your Child for School

School starts in just a couple of weeks in Wilmington. If you just moved to town and need to register your child for school, here’s what you need to know courtesy of the Wilmington Public Schools.

When’s the first day of school in Wilmington?

For families moving to Wilmington, to register your child for school in Wilmington, you would go to the school in which your child will attend. Please click on the following link to see which school your child will attend based on your street address.

Once you know which school your child should be registered at, to register, the parent or guardian must bring the following information to the school the child will attend:

• Massachusetts Transfer Slip (if enrolling from another MA district) with SASID number
• Birth Certificate (Original- Must have seal)
• Current IEP (if applicable) with parent signature
• Health record (listing up-to-date immunizations)
• Proof of Wilmington Residency (see residency policy)
• Proof of Physical Custody (if applicable)
