Lady Wildcats Playing for a Cause Thursday Night

When the Wilmington girls soccer team takes the field on Thursday night, players will be sporting a bit of a different look.

The Lady Wildcats are hosting "Kick Breast Cancer" night for their game against Stoneham that begins at 6 p.m. at Wilmington High School.

During the tilt, the team will wear pink jerseys as they raise money for the Massachusetts affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Fans can make donations at the game, and will also have the opportunity to buy 50-50 raffle tickets and purchase items at a bake sale. All proceeds from each portion of the fundraiser will be donated to breast cancer research.

In addition, Thursday is also Wilmington Youth Soccer Night. Any child who wears pink will be admitted to the game for free.

Also, in between the varsity and JV game, which kicked off at 4 p.m., the U14 Wilmington girls team faced off against Stoneham.
