Wilmington resident Mark Holleran has set up trail camera in the woods behind his house and has captured incredible video of all the wildlife in town. Over the weekend he created a Facebook page to share the amazing videos he’s been capturing since January.
Holleran has had the trail camera about 200 feet from his property into the woods between Boutwell Street and Forest Street since January. And he’s captured some really interesting things. His camera has captured many animals including: deer, coyotes, fisher cats, rabbits, raccoons, opossums, skunks, owls and even a hawk.

“I think the hawk was surprising,” Holleran said when asked about his interesting finds. “It was sitting on a log eating something. I’ve also caught a family of four of coyotes. It’s the mother, father, and two puppies born this year. I can identify some of the coyotes because I see them so much.”
The fisher cats, he says, are scary looking - he adds, one time having one walk by him about 20 feet away when he was at the camera.

Holleran, his wife and children love seeing all the different wildlife that comes through here. He made the Wildlife of Wilmington, MA Facebook page, so others could see what they were seeing and he would love others to get involved by posting their photos and videos to the page, as well. Additionally, he hopes the page will help keep pet owners aware and watch their pets when they are outside. Holleran says his own Black Lab has been nose to nose with a coyote twice.
So far it’s working - launched on Sunday, the Facebook page already has more than 480 likes. Check it out and join in the conversation >>>
