Local Schools Kick Off 'Kindness Week' Today
Schools throughout the district expand on "No Name Calling Day."

In addition to celebrating anti-bullying on Wednesday, schools in town have taken it a step further by kicking off “Kindness Week” on Monday.
Each school hosts a variety of week-long events that focus on treating fellow students with respect.

At , Students Against Destructive Decisions will do skits and work with fifth grade students on Thursday, students will take part in a second and third grade anti-bullying assembly and students will work on building confidence and developing strategies on how to handle bullies.

“It’s worth doing a weeklong event because this topic isn’t just a one-day deal,” said West Intermediate principal Dennis Shaw. “We’re trying to impact the decision making of kids and show them why it’s important to respect other people.”
