MA Coronavirus Numbers: Schools, Districts Report 160 New Cases
Five districts and one special education school reported five or more cases while over 400 districts and schools had no new cases.
MASSACHUSETTS — Seventy-three Massachusetts school districts reported coronavirus cases among staff and students from Oct. 8 to Oct. 14, according to new district-by-district coronavirus data released by the state Thursday. Five approved special education schools and one educational collaborative reported cases.
Of 160 total cases, 92 were students and 68 were staff. Only in-person and hybrid students and staff with building access were counted toward district numbers.
Eight districts and schools reported five or more cases. Marlborough, with 12 cases, and Lawrence, with 14, were the only districts with more than 10 cases. Ten of the Marlborough cases were students, while all 14 Lawrence cases were staff.

Forty-five districts reported just one case and 327 reported none at all. Sixteen educational collaboratives and 97 special education schools reported zero cases.
