The President's award is given in recognition of an individual's outstanding contribution to his or her school system, community and/or to MASBO. President Joanne Blier referenced Mary's deep-seeded commitment to the organization, which has transcended her acceptance of a school superintendency in Wilmington during the past two years. Mary's commitment included her primary role in the development of MASBO's five-year Strategic Plan, as well as her dual organizational leadership as MASBO President during her first year as as school superintendent.

The President's Award is sponsored by RISO, Inc., a vendor affiliate organization of MASBO, which provides a $1,000 honorarium to Mary for use by her district.
