Methuen Man Arrested After Failing To Stop For Wilmington Police

WILMINGTON, MA -- A Methuen man is facing charges after failing to stop for Wilmington Police on Concord Street early Friday morning. Police began searching for a brown Jeep after the driver failed to stop at 1:46 am. Police eventually caught up with the Jeep and arrested Derrick R. Ortega, 24, of Methuen, and charged with with operating a motor vehicle after license revocation, operating to endanger, failur to stop for police, and speeding.

Other arrest over the weekend that were listed in the Wilmington Police log include:

  • At 8:43 am Friday, police responded to a call of a man riding a scooter who walked down the Fire Road access off of Route 125. Police found Michael A. Maksou Jr., 21, of North Reading and arrested him for possession of a class A drug.
  • During a motor vehicle stop on Main Street at 6:33 pm Saturday, police issued a summons to Jaqueline C. Guimarraes, 39, of 2 Wayside Road in Tewksbury, on charges of unlicensed motor vehicle operation and failure to stop at a red light.
