Off to a Good Start

Wilmington High School boys lacrosse team is first Wildcat squad to take the field, and head coach Mike Fay's charges earned a season-opening win on Tuesday.

It's early, but there is no denying one thing. The boys lacrosse team can officially call themselves undefeated.

The Wildcats won their season opening tilt, 10-9, against visiting Triton on Tuesday afternoon in rainy conditions. With the victory, are already halfway towards last season's win total of two.

Peter Leighton led the way offensively with four goals and two assists, Trevor Foley found the back of the net three times, Brian Priem poured home two goals and an assist and Cam Collins capped the scoring with a marker of his own.

Following the win, the team has a day off on Wednesday before it is slated to travel to face Newburyport on Thursday.
