Officials to Discuss Cost Estimates for Potential New High School
Third of three public sessions takes place Tuesday night.

In recent months, for a potential new high school. Starting Tuesday night though, there will finally be dollar figures associated with those plans.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the current auditorium, school and town officials will provide estimates for site options being discussed for a potential new facility.
Superintendent of Schools Joanne Benton said the third of three public sessions on Tuesday will include a project update, proposed building options and project cost estimates.

“Town Manager (Michael Caira) will discuss preliminary estimates of cost and impact on residents,” said Benton. “Resident feedback has been extremely helpful during the process and will continue to be solicited.”
In previous months, officials have narrowed down the search to – one for renovation and one for building new.

If residents show they approve of the construction project, the town would receive a minimum of 48 percent reimbursement from the state, with the possibility of even more back.
Following tonight’s meeting, the topic will remain on the front burner over the summer even as students and teachers are gone until fall.
On July 27, the Massachusetts School Building Authority’s Board will vote on the approval of Wilmington’s preferred option, and the schematic design process will start.
