WILMINGTON, MA — Crews from Reading Municipal Light Department had restored power to several areas of Wilmington Thursday, after high winds early Thursday morning. Over 200,000 customers across the state woke up to no power, after the storm beginning Wednesday night. Exact numbers of customers without power were unavailable for Wilmington, as Reading Light does not feed that data to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Association, but the department reported on Twitter a number of outages.

Latest updates by the department showed some areas were still without power, as of 8:14 p.m. Thursday, including the Hillside Way area and Andover St. But most outages were reported as ended, including Roosevelt Rd, Suncrest Ave, Upton Drive, Charles River and Ballardvale St.

Wilmington Police also reported downed trees and power lines around the town Thursday, blocking roads.

In other parts of the state, over 100,000 customers were still without power Thursday night. High winds in excess of 90 miles per hour Wednesday night along the coast, creating a "Bomb Cyclone," made things worse for folks on the Cape and the Islands, according to the National Weather Service.

Eversource and National Grid, the state's two largest providers, estimated that they may not have power restored everywhere until Saturday night..
