The New England Patriots host the Denver Broncos in the AFC playoffs.

It's game day. In mere hours, the New England Patriots will look to take one step closer to a Super Bowl return as they play in their first postseason contest of the year after earning the No. 1 seed in the AFC and the first round bye that came with it.

So in preparation for tonight's big game, we provide you with five things you should know before kick off.

1. The game starts at 8 p.m. and can be found on CBS. New England welcomes the upstart Denver Broncos to Gillette Stadium in the AFC Divisional Round. The Patriots are the top seed, while the Broncos lost three straight games but still clinched the AFC West crown and the No. 4 seed. In the playoffs, Tim Tebow put together another of his signature clutch performances as Denver upset perennial powerhouse Pittsburgh.

2. The Patriots haven't had their postseason magic in a few years. It's been four years since New England last won a postseason contest. And that was a season most fans would like to forget. The last game the Pats won in the playoffs was the AFC Championship game against San Diego in 2007. With the win, Bill Belichick's charges advanced to play the New York Giants, who scored a last second touchdown and spoiled the Pats' perfect season.
