Penalty Kicks Boot Girls Soccer from Postseason [VIDEO]

After scoreless regulation and overtime, Arlington earns 3-2 PK win over Wilmington.

Rachel Grabar lofted the ball exactly where it needed to be as it soared towards the area just underneath the crossbar. But there was just one thing in the way - Arlington goalie Hannah Howe-Lubowich.

Howe-Lubowich glided backwards, leapt airborne and tipped the ball over the goal to preserve a 0-0 tie with 10:20 to play on Saturday in the North Division 2 girls soccer playoff opener on Saturday at Alumni Stadium.

The game remained scoreless through the end of regulation and after two overtime periods. Though Wilmington jumped out to a 2-0 edge in penalty kicks, it was the Spy Ponders who celebrated on the field after they stormed back to snag a 3-2 shootout win.
