Man Struck, Killed By Train In Wilmington

The person was hit by a MBTA commuter rail train near the Butters Row Bridge in Wilmington.

WILMINGTON, MA — A man was struck and killed by a MBTA commuter rail train in Wilmington around 7:30 p.m. Saturday night. The fatal crash occurred near the Butters Row overpass on the MBTA commuter rail tracks that run parallel to Main Street.

The man, whose age was unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene. Foul play is not suspected, and the crash remains under investigation. MBTA Transit Police said no passengers were on the inbound train on the Lowell line train when the trespasser was struck.
