Police Log: Nov. 28 to Dec. 3

One very busy week in Wilmington.

Sunday, November 28

6:36 a.m. - Police received a report there was a car window smashed in on Agostino Drive. The caller told police that around 12:30 a.m. she thought she heard something and saw three kids running and jumping into a white pick-up truck. A police car did notice a white pick-up parked in a nearby driveway with rear side-body damage and filled out a police report. An owner to a car on Agostino Dr. called in a report at 9:32 a.m. to say the window to his vehicle had been smashed along with several other vehicles. The call was added to the earlier report.

12:24 p.m. - A gray 1994 Chevy GMT400 was stopped and a 20-year-old man given a civil citation for smoking pot, possession of a dangerous weapon and under-age drinking.

12:58 p.m. - A brush fire broke out on Amherst Rd., the Fire Department handled the situation. 

6:02 p.m. - A caller reported a puppy wandering in and out of traffic on High Street at Middlesex Avenue. A K-9 unit was brought to the scene, but unable to locate the puppy.

6:39 p.m. - A person called to report her pocketbook stolen from McDonald's on Main Street on a few days before, November 24. And said there was about $50 stolen and a cell-phone but no ID nor credit cards were in the wallet. 

 

Monday, November 29

8:41 a.m. - Caller at Treasurehill Rd reported equipment being run at the neighbor's house is causing an ongoing nasty odor of diesel fuel in her home. 

9:15 a.m. - A person on Paul Street wants Animal Control to come visit a neighbor's house because the dog is repeatedly outside barking in the early morning.

12:44 p.m. - There was a car-crash on Glen Road at Middlesex Avenue between a red 1995 Volvo SE 960 and a 1999 Toyota SE Avalon. Both cars were towed but both people involved refused to be transported to the hospital.

3:01 p.m. - A caller from Glen Road reported electrical lines were on her walkway and her outside holiday decorations cut. Extra patrol was requested because of the increased vandalism in the area. 

5:34 p.m. - Another theft at Wildwood Cemetery was reported. Someone reported flowers, a flower holder and statue were stolen from her son's grave. This is the third time this has happened, she said. 

8:06 p.m. - A 26-year-old man was taken into custody and released to a friend after being found driving his 1999 Lincoln SE Continental on Middlesex Avenue while intoxicated.

 

Tuesday, November 30 

8:48 a.m. - Someone at Benevento Sand and Stone on Salem Street reported a stolen snow plow taken over last weekend. 

10:41 a.m. - A police car was flagged down on Shawsheen Avenue at Bridge Lane and told a man was going through people's trash on Grand St. 

4:23 p.m. - An anonymous caller tipped police off that kids were behind CVS stealing landscaping sticks. The police found the sticks removed, but not taken. 

5:28 p.m. - Police gave a man a no-trespass order for throwing rocks in the McDonald's parking lot. Someone from the fast-food joint on Main St. had called earlier regarding the matter earlier that day.

6:18 p.m. - A 1998 Acura Integris was disabled after a crash with a white 2007 Nissan Murano.

6:40 p.m. - Resident on Allgrove Lane reported his Christmas lights were cut sometime today. 

 

Wednesday, December 1

1:21 a.m. - A police officer reports having struck a deer with a cruiser, but did not seem to damage the car or animal.

3:21 a.m. - A 35-year-old man was arrested on I-93 Northbound for drunk-driving.

8:30 a.m. - The police assisted the Fire Department in an 

8:51 a.m. - A White 2003 Chevy van and black 2001 Honda Accord crashed head-on near the library on Middlesex Avenue and at least one person was transported to Lahey Clinic. 

10:35 a.m. - Three flags were stolen from a grave site at Wildwood Cemetery since November 26, a caller reported.

 

Thursday, December 2

2:29 a.m. - A person called from Melrose Avenue and reported her 15 year-old daughter was missing. 

 

Friday, December 3

5:28 a.m. - A North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council alert went out for Northeast Regional Vocational School in Wakefield.  

7:11 a.m. - The Bank of America ATM on Main Street had a burglary alarm going off. Police checked on the ATM and it was out of service, but did not appear to be tampered with.
